FEG Fixed Income Analyst Honored by Institutional Investor News

 

 Keith M. Berlin                                              Named a Top 20 Rising Star

 

 

CINCINNATI—May 29, 2008—Fund Evaluation Group’s (FEG) Vice President of Fixed Income, Keith M. Berlin, was recently recognized as one of the “20 Rising Stars of Fixed Income 2008” by Institutional Investor News.

 

This title recognizes 20 up-and-coming young individuals expected to shape the fixed-income market and act as future trendsetters. They represent markets around the world with expertise in a wide variety of fixed-income specialties, including; portfolio management, trading, research, strategy, technology and consulting.

 

Fellow fixed-income professionals submit nominees to Institutional Investor News’ business publishing staff and then the staff carefully selects finalists. Using their criteria, Institutional Investor News’ selected individuals must demonstrate expertise, dedication and consistency in their careers.

        
As a vice president on FEG’s fixed income team, Berlin conducts research on investment managers focusing on fixed income, private distressed and alternative fixed income strategies. He particularly enjoys the challenge of advising institutional clients on more diverse fixed-income strategies. Following an internship at Merrill Lynch, Berlin began his career as an equity options research analyst at Schaeffer’s Investment Research in 1996 and became a money market trader for Fifth Third Bank in 1998 before joining FEG in 2000.

 

Notably, FEG’s Vice President of Alternative Investments, J. Alan Lenahan, CFA, was recognized by Institutional Investor News as one of the “20 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds 2007” for his hedge fund experience and future potential in the alternative investment industry.

 

“I feel honored to be named a Rising Star among such an impressive group of other fixed-income professionals,” said Berlin.

 

According to Institutional Investor News, seventy-five percent of this year’s Rising Stars are in their 30s (with an average age of 36), seventy percent hold a master’s degree, nearly one-third work in portfolio management and fifteen percent work in trading.
